I started playing casino games three years ago, and while I still love gambling in person, I have to say online gaming has taken over a little bit! There are a lot of major online casinos in the UK, such as Mr Green, Betfair, Betway, Gala, and many others. These are my favourites, with my absolute favourite being Betfair. But, I don’t want to go into too much detail about these different sites, that can be a post for another day. Today, I want to go back to basics and explain to the people out there who do not play online games what they are and why we play them, and why you should too.
What is an online casino? Imagine sitting around a table in a casino with several other players, betting real or fake and with all the excitement of the real deal, except you are sat at home on your computer. Essentially, online casinos are internet based arenas where people from all over the world can play games virtually. It means that you do not have to venture far from your home to experience the thrill of gambling. This is perfect for me, especially as I often work long hours in the day, and so I don’t really have time to go to a casino.
What games can I play online? Before I begin to explain which games you can play online, I should say that it is best if you begin playing with fake money. This is usually free and is also really fun, but most of all it means that you can get to learn more about the games and your favourite online casinos before you start betting your hard earned cash. On all of the sites I mentioned you can play traditional games like craps, roulette, slot machines, and poker. Alongside the classics, these sites will have new games you can play too. The games are divided into four sections, including table games like blackjack, slot games, arcade games, and mobile games, which brings me nicely onto my next point.
Can I play on my mobile? A resounding yes! I often play on my mobile, and sometimes I prefer it. Games are often downloadable, and casino sites usually have an app too. For me, mobile games are perfect for when I am on the move. However, there are some drawbacks, including a more limited selection of games, possibly slower speeds, and also shortcomings with the graphics and overall experience. These are relatively minor differences, and so I would still recommend mobile games if you are busy like me, and find yourself on the train or the bus with nothing to do.
So, there you go, a very brief summary of all things to do with online casinos. I hope you enjoyed reading, and I also hope that this information will guide you well into the world of online casinos.
